  1. Shannon, I love all of these things. i have been really loving on lots cheese lately and full fat dairy yogurt. Have you ever had Liberte yogurt? Um, whoa baby. It's heavenly. It's indulgent. And I love it so good.

I want those slippers. I can't seem to keep my toesies warm and those would do the trick for sure.

I've heard great things about Murakami. I need to read one of this books soon.

Also, this pie would be a yummy choice:

There's a potluck this thursday that I really, really want to go to. It's hosted by my favorite all time yoga teacher, Maeve. She's one of those rare people that you just get this feeling about and I want her to be my friend. I'm hoping to get up the courage to go. It's a meditation potluck. She leads everyone in meditation at the beginning then everyone eats and socializes afterwards. One thing I really like about Maeve is something Amanda Palmer talked about in her Ted Talk. At the beginning of each class she just sits at the front and looks at each of us. Like really looks. It made me a little nervous the first few times. Deep soulful eye contact always does that. Like why are you looking so directly at me?!?!?!?! But it's because no one does that. I think we've lost a lot of that kind of connection somewhere along the way and it makes for quite a lonely existence. We never look at each other. Walking along the sidewalk, we all watch our feet or the cracks or the air in front but oh to make eye contact with the person walking towards us would be awkward. I've tried it with a smile and maybe a "hi" and more times than not everyone looks away. There were so many good things about this ted talk. I'm so glad I watched it. Thanks for sharing :)

  2. Christal! Yes to all of this! I've tried the looking and smiling at people on the street as I walk by them and try to make eye contact. Most people look away or look like they don't even see me. Kind of like when you're a kid and you're scared of monsters and you hide your face under the blanket with only a hole so you can breathe because "If I can't see you, you can't see me".

That pie... oh, yeah. I made a mango key lime pie the other day which was not raw and with cream cheese... and yes I love cheese.

For Pi day I am making maple walnut chocolate pie with a gluten free crust. I. Am. SO. Excited.
